ANTHROPOLOGY RESEARCH FACILITY

CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, FULLERTON

FULLERTON, CA

The National Science Foundation funded this renovation and conversion of abandoned chemistry laboratories into a new Anthropology Research Facility with labs, a museum, departmental and faculty offices, and laboratory support spaces. The 10,000 SF project integrates sub-disciplines of Visual Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Ethnography, and Archaeology. A new public expression is realized by utilizing the highly visible museum as the main entry. The completed design has also demonstrated the value that can be realized through renovation of older buildings.
