MUSIC WORSHIP and THEOLOGY BUILDING

IRVINE, CA

Concordia University Irvine commissioned the Firm to program, plan and design a new home for the campus music, worship arts and theology programs. This new three level, 37,500 GSF building provides state-of-the-art music facilities and a new academic wing for Christ College – the campus school of theology. New rehearsal and recital halls are included for orchestra and choir along with a new “live” studio. Music support spaces include all new practice rooms, faculty studios and specialty practice rooms for percussion and piano along with a new music library, classroom and study space. Christ College includes a theology library, conference center, faculty offices, general classrooms, graphics studio, workrooms and the like. The new building is sited to create a new campus courtyard/quad with the existing Library/Theater Arts building. The court provides a new campus gathering spot for the southwest portion of the campus – while defining the entries for Music and Christ College.
